The Search and Rescue Dive Team was established in 1966 and covers any aquatic environment within the County inclusive of forty-three miles of coastline, three harbors, two offshore islands, seven lakes and numerous ponds and reservoirs. This Team has 25 active members and several admin personnel. The Dive Team specializes in underwater recovery, evidence collection and swift water rescue. In addition to performing searches on SCUBA, this team utilizes underwater sonar as well as an ROV to assist in locating victims and objects underwater. Members of this team also occasionally assist on large-scale ground searches and evacuations and are available to respond throughout the state to mutual aid water recovery incidents.
